#1 Vegan Junk Food Bar

Our very first recommendation for vegan food-lovers is a 'pinkish' chain of restaurants located not only in the Netherlands but also in Spain, and soon in Germany. We are talking about Vegan Junk Food Bar (VJFB). Born in Amsterdam in 2017, with its amazing food quality, Vegan Junk Food Bar won 2 Vegan Awards in 2018 and got approval from vegan food mavens across the Netherlands. Since its establishment, VJFB has been constantly growing with 3 ideal locations in Amsterdam, 1 in Rotterdam, and 1 in Barcelona.

Walking in a VJFB restaurant for the first time, you will be surprised by its funky design with youthful interior and graffiti wall. At VJFB, their VJFBurgers are definitely worth trying. On the menu, you will find 8 different variations of burgers. In the middle of an original, black, or pinky sesame bun is a seasoned plant-based patty, some fresh vegetables like tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, served with a thick layer of their signature sauces.

You do not need to be a vegan to enjoy their burgers’ flavor to the fullest. No matter which burger is your choice, you will be amazed by how tasty all the ingredients go together in a bite. Moist burger bun, fresh vegetables, flavorful sauce, and juicy vegan patty, everything is perfectly well-made for a warm lunch or dinner with friends. Before or after a rich-in-flavor-and-nutrition burger, do not hesitate to try their delicious salads or finger food as side dishes.

Everyone loves junk food. But having junk food in a conscious and environmental-friendly way is what you should consider. And when it comes to plant-based restaurants in the Netherlands, you should not miss Vegan Junk Food Bar!

#2 Yoghurt Barn

For yogurt lovers, you might have noticed Yoghurt Barn in the big central stations in Amsterdam or Utrecht. YB by Yoghurt Barn is one of the most well-known green chains of restaurants in the Netherlands. Besides yogurt (yes, the name already explains itself), Yoghurt Barn also offers other vegetarian and vegan options, including chia pudding, overnight oats, smoothies, and of course, healthy meals with toast and wraps. And it is great that you don't have to pay extra for plant-based milk options!

If you are looking for a light breakfast and lunch (or brunch), we highly recommend the Awesome Avo wrap, a combination of yogurt spread with fresh mango and hazelnut. No matter you are a vegan or not, this wrap could seduce and make your mouth water at the first glance.

With 11 stores in the Netherlands, finding a 'Barn' near your location should not be a big problem.
Yoghurt Barn is available in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Haarlem, Leiden, Nijmegen, Den Bosch, and Breda.

For both vegetarians and vegans (or vegan food-lovers) in Rotterdam, we suggest you give Spirit a try. Located near the city center, Spirit has a cozy interior that brings home feeling to you right at the moment you step in.
