5 things to do on Halloween in the Netherlands

Though Halloween is not one of the most celebrated holidays in the Netherlands, in the past years it has become more and more popular. If you're wondering what is there to do in Holland during the spooky Halloween weekend, we got you covered! Here are our top picks for a frightening (Dutch) Halloween!

#1 Halloween at Toverland

Get spooky at one of the best theme parks in the Netherlands, Toverland! During Halloween, the famed Toverland gets a complete makeover into one of the most frightening parks in the Netherlands. With 5 unforgettable haunted experiences and 5 horrifying scare zones, you will surely get your blood pumping and running. We're talking pirates, knights, the Trojan army, and the worst... a circus realm that can horrify even the bravest of the brave. Each night will come to a close with a beautiful firework show to help you forget the terrifying scenes you just witnessed. This year, Toverland celebrates its 20th anniversary, meaning you can expect an even more frightening experience than usual!

#2 Amsterdam Halloween

In for a Halloween party by the book? Better get ready, because Amsterdam Halloween is back! For their 12th edition, the organizers have prepared a special theme called The Paranormal Horror Circus, which invites all paranormal creeps, acrobats, illusionists, and more to come dance at the biggest Halloween party in the Netherlands. The event will take place at Westergasfabriek on October 30th and will have 3 dedicated areas playing EDM, Techno, and some good old 90's music. Just like every year, the dress code is strict and only those who dress up in a costume will be allowed inside.

#3 Spooky Days & Fright Nights at Walibi

If you're down for a good scare, nothing will quite compare to this one. Every year for Halloween, Walibi Holland organizes the so-called Spooky Days and Fright Nights, which are sure to scare the bejesus out of you. The experience includes a scary scenario, lots of actors, chaos and some jump scares like you never had before. Walibi offers an array of experiences, including chilling haunted houses, cruel walks through the Wicked Woods, a horror dinner experience, and even an overnight stay! Just a small warning, the Walibi experiences are definitely not fit for the fainted hearts.

#4 Center Parcs Halloween

If you're looking for something less scary, a weekend getaway at Center Parcs might just be the best option for you! This is especially great if you want to spend some quality time with your family or kids while doing something in the autumnish spirit of Halloween. Carving pumpkins, decorating broomsticks, and dressing up as witches or wizards are just a few of the fun activities on the schedule.

#5 Halloween-Climbing at Fun Forest

For a more unique Halloween experience with plenty of adrenaline rush, try the Halloween climbing at Fun Forest. For just a couple of days per year, Fun Forest opens its doors to the daredevils who want to test their limits and get a good Halloween scare. During this night, you will climb through the Fun Forest, but this time surrounded by scary decorations and even more scary actors who are there to bring some extra fright to your journey. The Halloween climbing experience can be done in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Almere.
