The best markets of The Hague
There are some markets in The Hague that you just need in your life without knowing it! Let us introduce you to the best markets that this city offers!
#1 Haagse Markt
Hands down, The Hague has the best and biggest market of The Netherlands (and takes the second spot of Europe’s largest). The Haagse Markt has approximately 500 stands, is very multicultural with products from different parts of the world, and you can spend easily a full day browsing before you know it! There are plenty of small eateries in between, our tip: try some fried fish at stand 4.59, sip tropical drinks at stand 1.42, and explore the vegetables aisles for a true local experience!
Opening times: Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9.00h - 17.00h
Address: Herman Costerstraat 571, The Hague (Google Maps)
#2 Farmers Market
A small, but a good place to find organic and ecological products in the city center! Tip: the vendors can give out advice and extensive explanation on their products.
Opening times: Every Wednesday, from 10.00h - 18.00h
Address: Hofplaats, The Hague (Google Maps)
#3 Royal Christmas Fair
Relatively small and only in December, but worth a visit while you are in the city center! This fair is located across the Hofvijver at the classic area of Lange Voorhout, with a cozy old-fashioned ambiance. Enjoy a hot choco or a glass of glühwein, while you search for the best wrong X-mas sweater or browse curiosities for your interior! For the dates and opening times, check the website.
#4 Home made market
This market fair features only locally made goodies and is held several times a year. From mouth-watering homemade cakes to natural cosmetics, to local craft beers and wines! The live music performances in between add to a cheerful day! Definitely keep an eye on the agenda when the market is held in the Zeeheldenkwartier neighborhood. You can find more details here.
