How to fix your tilt and turn window
Having troubles with your tilt and turn window? We've got you! Handle it yourself by following these steps.
Tilt and turn windows are typical European (in Dutch these are called a draai- en kiepraam). You can open these windows inwards in two ways: completely or tilted from the bottom, giving a smaller opening at the top of the window for ventilation. They work by the simple turning of a single handle.
• Securely close the window by turning the handle down.
• Turn the handle by 90 degrees into horizontal position, and you can open the whole window towards you.
• By turning the handle by another 90 degrees, pointing upwards, you can put the window in tilted position.
Once in tilted position, make sure you push the window back with one hand against the window frame and with one hand on the handle. Otherwise, the window will come loose from the hinge at the top of the window.
How to fix a blocked handle by yourself
When your window handle is blocked, you can't close your window. In that case, we have some life-saving assistance for you.
Step 1. Look for the metal levers on the side of the window
Step 2. Push the metal lever back into its vertical position and turn the handle in the direction you want it to be.
Step 3. Close the window. Done!
With that, a blocked window handle should be fixed. Did this not solve your issue? Then there might be something else going on. If you are a tenant of Holland2Stay, please submit a support ticket to us through your online account. Our caretaker on site will have a closer look at it!
