#1 How does a normal day look like for you?

I normally start my day by going through my emails and checking on the flow of the bookings in our system. Afterwards, depending on the day, I will either be meeting with one of my team members, visiting one of the many buildings in our region or working on my ever-growing to-do list. I tend to be very progress-oriented, so I am always looking at ways to improve our services and our efficiency. I normally have meetings at least once a day, either with one of the companies that we work with or colleagues from other parts of the Netherlands.

#2 What or who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

My career path is very atypical for someone in the property branch. As a child I always wanted to work in the medical field, but once I actually started studying it, I found out it wasn’t for me. My friend Otto, who used to work for Holland2stay, told me to apply as property manager of the Flying Deer in 2018. I ended up being hired for this position and that’s where my passion for property management started. This newfound passion, along with my love for leadership, inspired me to pursue my current career in the property branch. I love being able to point at a building and say: “we manage that building!”. It is very tangible.

#3 What is the most meaningful part of your job?

The most meaningful part of my job is helping my team members achieve the best possible version of themselves on a professional level. I love seeing them improve on a day-to-day basis. A very close second is helping foreigners get settled in the Netherlands once they first arrive in a completely new country.

#4 Which company value do you identify with the most?

The value I identify most with is transparency. I am quite a direct person myself (typical Dutchie) and I like to be open about everything. I have seen many changes in the right direction in terms of clarity within Holland2stay, both for tenants and for employees.

#5 Pineapple pizza. Yay or nay?

I will have to go with yay. I don’t normally order a pineapple pizza, but everyone has to be a sinner every once in a while…
