<p>Huurteam Utrecht is an independent organization, working on behalf of the municipality of Utrecht. The organization checks if private residences - in specific student residences – are rented out in line with the Dutch rent legislation and the rents point system. Good letting is rewarded with the Landlord OK quality mark. Huurteam Utrecht has checked Holland2Stay and has officially stated that Holland2Stay meets all criteria for the quality mark!</p>

<h3>About Huurteam Utrecht</h3>
<p>In the Netherlands, there are many rules and regulations protecting tenants’ rights. Many tenants, especially students and expats, aren’t sufficiently aware of this. Excessively high rents and service costs, unrefunded deposits and poor maintenance of the accommodation are just a few examples of the problems that tenants face when they rent accommodation. To support tenants in disputes, regional tenant support teams have been initiated by municipalities. Huurteam Utrecht provides information, advice and support. Even more, Huurteam Utrecht offers landlords who want to rent out in a good way the opportunity to distinguish themselves from landlords who do not.</p>
<h3>The criteria</h3>
<p>To be eligible for the Rental Quality Mark, you meet the following criteria:</p>

<li class="font-14">The housing is legal - all necessary permits have been granted and the required reports have been made</li>
<li class="font-14">The rental agreement has to be in line with the rental legislation of the Dutch government</li>
<li class="font-14">The rent of the residences does not exceed the maximum rent under the rent points system</li>
<li class="font-14">The annual rent increase is in line with the Dutch legislation</li>
<li class="font-14">The service costs are settled annually, in accordance with the statutory rules of the Dutch government</li>
<li class="font-14">The residences are well-maintained</li>
<li class="font-14">For safety and prevention of nuisance, house and lifestyle rules are created</li>
<li class="font-14">There is regular management by a non-tenant, who supervises hygiene and safety, maintains an up-to-date overview of the residents of the building, and can be reached 24 hours per days.</li>
</ul>
<h3>The verdict</h3>
<p>Huurteam Utrecht has checked our rental agreements, service costs handling and maintenance of residences, and concluded that Holland2Stay meets all criteria! Zjef Bogers received the certificate from Edo Gommers in Rotterdam, in our office in The Lee Towers. A nice accomplishment - good letting is rewarded!</p>

<p>Hooray! Holland2Stay has officially received the Verhuurder OKeurmerk (‘Rental Quality Mark’) from Huurteam Utrecht.</p>

<h2>As of May 1, 2020, Wilbert Aben is the new managing director of Holland2Stay. After 9 years as managing director, founder Zjef Bogers makes way for his successor.</h2>
<p>The new managing director will be responsible for the further development of Holland2Stay. Holland2Stay was founded in 2011 under the name Eindhoven2Stay with several residences under management in Eindhoven. Because of the rapid expansion of property management in other cities, we changed the name to Holland2Stay for all our branches in the Netherlands in 2018.</p>
<p>Holland2Stay focuses on home seekers who desire comfort and service and is fully committed to hospitality, the distinguishing factor of our organization. We currently manage almost 8.000 homes in the major cities in the Netherlands, and this number is expected to grow to more than 10.000 residences in 2022.</p>
<p>Wilbert Aben brings years of management experience to Holland2Stay. Wilbert previously worked as an area manager at A.S. Watson and was responsible for Kruidvat branches in Belgium. Zjef Bogers is now shifting his focus to other activities and new projects within Holland2Stay.</p>

<h2>Cleaning your home well before moving out is important to get your deposit back and avoid any possible cleaning fees. Before you start scrubbing, make sure to check our list of the most overlooked cleaning spots.</h2>
<p>Moving out of your home can be a stressful process, and the to-do list might seem to never end. Between juggling with rental trucks and sweet-talking your friends into helping you transport your stuff to the new place, it's easy to forget the little things that need cleaning in the home you're about to leave behind.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Remove limescale&nbsp;</strong><br>'Wherever there's water, there's going to be limescale' – is one of the unwritten rules in the cleaning book. Use a limescale remover to get rid of the stubborn limescale in your shower and sinks. You can find this at any supermarket or cleaning supplies store. Let the limescale remover soak all the dirt to make the scrubbing easier for yourself. Then proceed with the classic 'scrub, scrub, scrub' and rinse with a lot of water. Make sure to perform the same process with your sink to make everything clean and limescale-free.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean inside your cupboards</strong><br>Even though the kitchen cupboards might seem an obvious place to clean, it's one of those 'hidden in plain sight' enemies. If your apartment is furnished, remove all the plates and other kitchen utensils from the cupboards and clean the inside. Don't forget about the handles and cupboards' exterior either. These are easily overlooked but bear a lot of greases, food splashes, and fingerprints that you want to clean before moving out.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean the windows</strong><br>Windows are some of the most easily overlooked spots to clean. Before your check-out appointment, clean the inside of your windows and/or balcony doors with a glass cleaner. You can also use warm water with a splash of dish soap. Depending on the building in which you live, the exterior cleaning of the windows might be performed by specialized cleaners, in which case you will not have to clean the exterior of your windows. In other cases (for example, if you live in an unfurnished residence), you need to clean the exterior of your windows by yourself.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean the refrigerator</strong><br>Though most people clean the shelves and drawers of their refrigerators regularly, cleaning under and behind them is a different story. Lots of food particles and dirt will gather in these places, so it’s important to get any drawers and shelves out of the fridge and clean them thoroughly inside and out. Also, make sure to clean the exterior of your refrigerator. Wipe down any unwanted food splatters and fingerprints.<br><br>Do you have a refrigerator with a freezer compartment? Don't forget to clean that as well. Turn off the refrigerator so that the ice melts out of the freezer. Clean it and leave it turned off if you don't need to keep anything cold anymore.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Deep clean the washing machine</strong> <br>If your home has a washing machine, you must deep clean it before your check-out. To prolong the life of a washing machine, it's super important to clean it well regularly. Check <a href="https://holland2stay.com/blog/cleaning-washing-machine">this guide</a> on why it's important to clean your washing machine extensively.<br><br>
<ul>
<li>Remove the detergent dispenser tray and soak it in warm soapy water. Use a toothbrush to scrub away any residue or build-up. Rinse and dry thoroughly before reinserting it into the machine.</li>
<li>Get a microfiber cloth or sponge and clean the inside rubbers. Wipe down the inside of the drum and the door seal thoroughly to remove any remaining grime or mold.</li>
<li>If your machine has a filter, clean it. Most washing machines have a filter on the right bottom of the machine, behind a round lid. Before you check the filter, put a bucket or tray underneath to catch any excess water. To be sure, grab a towel and put it underneath. Turn the filter counterclockwise slowly. Drain the tube and clean the inside and the filter. Ready? Put it all back in place.</li>
<li>Set your washing machine to its hottest water setting and run a cycle with two dishwasher tablets. This will help loosen and dissolve any built-up detergent residues. Don't forget to leave the door wide open after the final washing to avoid any foul smells forming in the machine.<br><br></li>

<li><strong>Clean the vacuum cleaner</strong><br>Though vacuuming the floor is usually not something widely overlooked, many people forget to clean the vacuum itself and replace the vacuum bag with a new one. Make sure to add these to your check-out cleaning list.&nbsp;<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Check the electronic appliances</strong><br>It’s no secret that appliances can get a bit grimy over time. Irons and especially kettles need to be cleaned thoroughly to get rid of any limescale build-up or other types of dirt. Make sure to wipe them clean on the exterior and when possible, clean their interior too. Clean your kettle by filling it with water and white vinegar or lemon juice. Bring it to a boil and let it sit for 20 minutes. Rinse it with water afterward to prevent your tea from having a strange taste.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Remove any marks on the walls </strong><br>Make sure your walls look brand-new when you move out. Minor marks and scuffs on the walls can be removed by gently wiping them down with a wet cloth.&nbsp;<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean the fabric of the upholstery</strong><br>Upholstery fabrics will also become dirty with time. Don’t forget to vacuum your upholstered furniture and wash it using a dry wash solution to ensure everything is clean, odorless, and hair-free.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Don't forget the small things&nbsp;</strong><br>With so much going on for your move-out day, it’s easy to forget to clean the small things like switches, door handles, and knobs, which tend to blend in with the walls and doors. There is usually a lot of dust that accumulates on and around them and they help germs spread quickly since they are used so often. <p>Helping people is in our hospitable nature. We made it our goal to make our residents happy in their homes, but our mission doesn't end here! Helping and bringing happiness to those who need it most is what keeps us on our toes.</p>
<p>This year, we brought everyone at Holland2Stay together and rallied up to fight for a handful of good causes. Each team of Holland2Stay has been allocated a budget of €500 to donate to a charitable cause of their choice. The teams decided to help either a charity that was close to their heart or simply a social cause they thought could use an extra helping hand in times of challenge.</p>
<p>We were lucky to help several charitable groups, among which we count:</p>
<h3>1. Alzheimer Nederland</h3>
<p>A wonderful organization that is committed to fighting one of the biggest challenges we face today: dementia. <a href="https://www.alzheimer-nederland.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alzheimer Nederland</a> works hard to provide a better quality of life for people with dementia, as well as their families and friends. We were more than happy to be able to help this amazing organization in its life-changing mission of helping people who suffer from this disease.</p>
<h3>2.Tittagalla primary school</h3>
<p>One of our most beloved charitable activities was helping a small-town school in Tittagalla (Sri Lanka) build a brand new playground in their schoolyard. The kids who once used to play in their parents' rice fields can now enjoy a safe and fully-equipped playground that will serve them well for many years to come. The smiles on these children's faces brought us so much joy!</p>

<h3>3. The Ocean Cleanup</h3>

This Netherlands-based non-profit organization works hard on developing the best technologies to extract plastic pollution from the oceans and even prevent it from entering the oceans by cleaning the rivers. An amazing mission that needs all the support it can get from all of us!</p>
<h3>4. Kledingbank Eindhoven</h3>
<p>The <a href="https://www.kledingbank-eindhoven.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kledingbank Eindhoven</a> (or the Clothes Chamber in English) has an honorable objective: to provide a warm coat to those in need. The organization operates mainly in the Eindhoven region. Throughout the years, Kledingbank Eindhoven has organized various campaigns to help kids and adults alike receive clothes for free. We are super proud that we were able to help this wonderful organization and even more so that one of our colleagues is a regular volunteer at the Kledingbank!</p>

<h3>5. De Poezenboot</h3>
<p>Literally translated as "The Catboat", <a href="https://depoezenboot.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">De Poezenboot</a> is a unique animal sanctuary for stray and abandoned cats, that is located on a houseboat on one of Amsterdam's most famous canals. Though normally cats are not big fans of water, the furry friends at De Poezenboot love living on it as they never have to get their paws wet. We were very happy to give a helping hand to the amazing people who take care of the cats on De Poezenboot.</p>
<h3><br>6. Stichting Jarige Job</h3>
<p>An amazing organization with a heart-warming mission: helping families who cannot afford to celebrate their child's birthday. <a href="https://stichtingjarigejob.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stichting Jarige Job</a> provides children in need with a wonderful birthday box that contains everything needed for a memorable birthday celebration. A great mission that we were oh-so proud to help!</p>

Voedselbank has an honorable objective: to provide food to people who are struggling financially. Their wonderful mission expands to assisting companies, institutions, and governments not only with food but also with services and financial aid in the pursuit of helping people in need as well as to prevent food wastage. We were so excited to assist this organization in its great mission!</p>

<p>With the takeover of the management of <a href="/building-campus-zonnelaan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Zonnelaan</a>, Holland2Stay now manages 559 residences in Groningen. Besides Campus Zonnelaan, Holland2Stay already manages <a href="/building-oostersingel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Oostersingel</a> in Groningen. Campus Zonnelaan will also have an office on the ground floor, where tenants can easily drop by for questions or help.</p>

<p>The studios are perfect for students who prefer to have their own bathroom and kitchen. All studios are each 24 square meters and are rented semi-furnished, thus without furniture. Each residence comes with pre-installed black-out curtains and vinyl flooring. The kitchen is equipped with a built-in refrigerator, a combi microwave oven, and an electric cooker. Campus Zonnelaan has a large, sunny rooftop terrace with a fantastic view over the city of Groningen. In the building is a spacious meeting room where you can meet other residents. Both common areas are fully equipped with tables and lounge sets, great for studying or relaxing. There is a common launderette with several washing machines and dryers.</p>

From this ideal location, you can reach the city center, nightlife, and shopping center Paddepoel in no time.</p>
<h3>Can I rent here?</h3>
<p>You can rent the student studios of Campus Zonnelaan as long as you are a student. All studios are suitable for housing allowance, making it a good and affordable place to rent as a student.</p>
<p>Through the fully online booking system, (future) students can easily book a residence online. For newly available residences, new tenants are selected by lottery. Every Tuesday around 7 PM, available studios are published on our <a href="https://holland2stay.com/residences.html">website</a>. You can sign up for a lottery residence until Sunday 20:00. A random signee is automatically selected to book the residence. On Monday, the selected signee will be contacted directly by email. You can only sign up for one residence per week in the lottery.</p>

Drain the tube and clean the inside and the filter. Ready? Put it all back in place.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean the detergent dispenser</strong><br>Remove the detergent dispenser tray and soak it in warm soapy water. Use a toothbrush to scrub away any residue or build-up. Rinse and dry thoroughly before reinserting it into the machine.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean the rubbers on the inside</strong><br>Get a microfiber cloth or sponge and clean the inside rubbers. Wipe down the inside of the drum and the door seal thoroughly to remove any remaining grime or mold.<br><br></li>

There are 108 one-bedroom apartments (48 to 67 m<sup>2</sup>), 130 two-bedroom apartments (57 to 99 m<sup>2</sup>), and two three-bedroom apartments (107 m<sup>2</sup>). All apartments come semi-furnished, including a warm wood-like PVC floor, white walls, and fitting curtains. The kitchens are equipped with all the necessary appliances, like an induction plate, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, and a combi oven. The bathroom includes a shower, sink, hanging toilet, and design radiator to dry and warm up towels. There’s a connection for a washing machine in the bathroom. <h2><strong>After Genestetlaan, we’ve got a second love in Nijmegen: Canisiushof. From January 2024, Holland2Stay rents out 120 lofts and apartments at Berg en Dalseweg in Nijmegen.<br></strong></h2>
<p><br>Built in 1900, this monumental neo-Renaissance-style building is one of the most iconic buildings in <a href="https://holland2stay.com/city/nijmegen">Nijmegen</a>. The impressive symmetrical façade is well-known by many locals. Standing tall in a calm neighborhood, <a href="https://holland2stay.com/building/canisiushof">Canisiushof</a> isn’t a building you just pass by. Key features of Canisiushof are the unique entrance hall, the nineteenth-century gallery library, and the chapel.</p>

<p>Named after Petrus Canisius, it has always had an educational function. Canisiushof once housed a boys’ boarding school, high schools Canisius College and ROC Nijmegen, and the college HAN University of Applied Sciences. This will change now, as Canisiushof will house a total of 120 rental lofts and apartments. It’ll be revived and become a showpiece of Nijmegen again. But above all, it’ll become a warm and welcoming place.</p>
<h3><strong>Redevelopment </strong></h3>
<p>Besides the presence of some offices on one side of the building, the place had been vacant for a long time. During the construction, many original features will be preserved. Think of the entrance, the hallways, stained-glassed window parts, and the original chapel. In terms of design, it has many resemblances to Amsterdam Central Station and Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, thanks to architect Pierre Cuypers.</p>
<p>The seven floors are being transformed one by one. The building will be gasless – it will be heated with a geothermal source. Solar panels will also be installed on the flat roofs of the buildings. All the to-be-finished homes are brand-new. There will be a variety of types and layouts to choose from. All homes are fully furnished, coming with everything you need to quickly settle in. Perfect if you’re relocating to the Netherlands and looking for a place to stay for a short period.</p>

<p>Canisiushof is located at Pater Leijdekkersstraat and Berg en Dalseweg, in the neighborhood Hunnerberg - east of Nijmegen’s city center. It’s a calm neighborhood, well-connected to everything one will possibly need. There are two bus stops in the street and it’s only 10 minutes biking to Nijmegen Central Station. Supermarkets Albert Heijn and Coop can be found within 500 meters of Canisiushof. Nijmegen’s city center is only a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute bike ride.</p>

<p><br>After organizing our successful Christmas Quiz Night in 2020 and Days of Wonder in 2021 and 2022, 2023 was all about our Wonder Wheel events. As home is where Christmas is, why not start spreading the Christmas spirit by getting together with neighbors? With festive fun brewing in the air, we organized eight Wonder Wheel events across the country. Spanning over three days, more than 1,500 tenants attended the events in Maastricht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Groningen, Eindhoven and Utrecht.</p>

<p>The Wonder Wheel events were more than just a gathering – there was excitement, laughter, festive music, mulled wine, and hot chocolate. A unique opportunity for our tenants to connect, mingle, and indulge in the thrill of spinning the Wonder Wheel. With each spin came the promise of fantastic prizes. Cheers erupted each time a lucky tenant landed on a prize, whether it was a keychain or the exhilarating jackpot of a chance to win an Airfryer or an entire month’s rent. Tenants happily walked out with Spill the scoop card games, umbrellas, tote bags, keychains, and warm slip-on slippers.</p>
<p>But beyond the allure of prizes, the Wonder Wheel events served as a platform for fostering a sense of belonging within our Holland2Stay community. Strangers became known neighbors and friends, bonding over shared moments. Smiles are exchanged, connections are forged, and memories are created.<br><br></p>

<p>‘Tis the season to be jolly, and oh boy, did we embrace the joy! This year, we organized eight wonder-filled Wonder Wheel events across the country.</p>

<h2>Besides The Auditorium at Nico Andriessenstraat, our second location in <a href="https://holland2stay.com/city/haarlem">Haarlem</a> is officially on its way. <strong>Expected in Q4 in 2024, <a href="https://holland2stay.com/comingsoon/ceylonpoort">Ceylonpoort</a> will house 162 lofts, apartments, and penthouses in the neighborhood of Schalkwijk.&nbsp;</strong></h2>
<h3>Progress on the construction site</h3>
<p>Built in 1973, this building at Amerikaweg was ready for a refresh. It used to be the home ground of the publishing group VNU. After leaving, the building became vacant. Plans to transform it into a residential complex started back in 2019. 15 floors, including a mezzanine, will make way for 162 new rental homes. Actual construction work started in 2022.</p>

<p>The transformation is now in full swing. In the summer of 2023, demolition work was completed and the highest point was reached. Now, construction workers are working hard on the facades of the building. These will be replaced, giving the building a new and eye-catching look. The west facade is completed in mid-January and private balconies are installed. Time to remove the crane tower and make way for the construction of the parking garage. Soon, the construction of the plinth will start. Seamlessly blending with its surroundings, the ground floor of the building will host some offices or businesses. These will be situated on the Evert Haverkortplein side of the building. You can expect a vibrant hub, mixing up living here with work and social spots.</p>
<h3>What's living at Ceylonpoort like?</h3>
<p>Ceylonpoort will have much choice in the type of layout. Ranging between 52 and 114 m<sup>2</sup>, there will be lofts, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and three-bedroom penthouses. A fit for every lifestyle!</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Lofts<br></strong>The 12 modern lofts will be on average 70 m<sup>2 </sup>and are situated on a mezzanine floor of the building – between the ground floor and second floor. The entrance, kitchen, living room, toilet, storage room, and balcony are on the first floor. The bathroom and bedroom are on the lower, mezzanine floor.&nbsp;<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Apartments</strong><br>From the second to the eleventh floor, there will be 137 apartments. On average, these will be 78 m<sup>2</sup> and have one or two bedrooms. The living room features an open kitchen and provides access to a private balcony of about 4 to 7 m<sup>2</sup>. Some apartments have an extra, in-house storage room.<br><br><strong> </strong></li>
<li><strong>Penthouses<br></strong>On top of Ceylonpoort, on the twelfth and thirteenth floor, there will be 13 penthouses. Its entrance is on the twelfth floor, where the living room, kitchen, toilet, and a rooftop terrace are. On the thirteenth floor, there’s another bedroom with access to another rooftop terrace, and a bathroom. The in-between penthouses have a patio instead of another rooftop terrace.<br><br></li>

<h3>Well-positioned in Haarlem</h3>
<p>Schalkwijk, we’re coming for you. This neighborhood is a soon-to-be modern and attractive place to live. Big plans are announced to revamp this area into ‘Schalkstad’, a renewed part of Haarlem with everything you need to live comfortably. Former office buildings are being transformed into homes and the shopping center Schalkwijk is about to become a new hotspot. There’s nothing you’ll not find here. It already includes supermarkets and fashion shops, but also recreation options like a cinema and a gym.</p>
<p>Ceylonpoort is located southeast of Haarlem’s city center, only 15 minutes by public transport. It’s also located close to several nature parks, like Meerwijkplas and Molenplas. Haarlem is a popular city among the young ones, as it blends culture, modernity, and history. Squeezed in between Amsterdam and beach cities like Zandvoort and Bloemendaal aan Zee, many prefer living in Haarlem over life in busy Amsterdam.</p>

The transformation has been in full swing and is nearly reaching its final stage. The compact studios range from 13.9 to 25.1 square meters and include a private bathroom and kitchen. That’s all what you want as a student! Space-saving furniture and a smart layout maximize the living environment, offering the essential comfort you need as a student. All fully furnished, moving in has never been so easy. The interiors will have a warm and inviting atmosphere, making you feel at home from the moment you enter.<br><br>Surrounded by other students, residents can be part of a vibrant community with lots of opportunities to meet others. Residents can swing by the shared meeting point, where they can study, socialize, and build lasting friendships. When it’s time to relax, the shared outside terrace is the perfect spot to go. <h2><strong>Keeping your living space smelling fresh is key to making it feel like home – if you ask me. Besides that, you're expected to let it smell fresh once you move out. Let’s get you some practical tips on eliminating bad smells at home.</strong></h2>
<h3>Open your windows</h3>
<p>Your home will smell like what you cooked last week if no window has been opened for a while. The most logical solution against bad smells is opening your windows regularly. If you don’t ventilate your home, fresh air won’t come in and old air won’t get out.<br><br>To properly ventilate your home, open your vents and windows day and night. Ventilate especially after cooking, showering, and sleeping. Just opening the windows for a short time isn’t enough. Do you have ventilation grilles above your windows? Leave them always open. Do you have no clue if you ventilate enough? Invest in a CO2 meter, which measures air quality. Does your CO2 meter indicate 800 to 1200 or above? Then it’s necessary to ventilate more than you're doing now.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Preventing mold</strong><br>Besides getting rid of bad smells, it’s healthy to ventilate your home. Not only because of the higher air quality but also because you're preventing mold. Mold is a sign of moisture problems. You can recognize mold by black deposits on the walls, for example in your bathroom, shower, or bedroom. It’s important to identify the cause, as it can harm your home and health. Tackle moisture and mold problems in your home by following these tips:&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<li><strong>Heat up your home well</strong><br>Keep your thermostat at (at least) 15 degrees.&nbsp;</li>
<li><strong>Ventilate your home&nbsp;</strong><br>Always leave your vents open for some fresh air. Don't have a ventilation grid? Open your window every day for about 30 minutes (more is always better!).&nbsp;</li>
<li><strong>Keep your walls clean</strong><br>Did you know that mold attaches faster to dirty walls? Right, clean those walls!&nbsp;</li>
<li><strong>Ventilate extra during showering and cooking</strong><br>Prevent moist air from spreading in your home by closing the bathroom door and opening an extra window.&nbsp;</li>
<li><strong>Dry your walls and floors after showering</strong><br>Heat up your bathroom and dry the glass shower screens after taking a shower.</li>
<li><strong>Remove mold if you see any&nbsp;</strong><br>Is it already too late and do you see any mold? Time to remove it! Mix baking soda in hot water and polish the mold off the wall to prevent it from spreading even further.&nbsp;</li>

<h3>Natural deodorizers</h3>
<p>Yes, you can burn scented candles and use air fresheners and cleaners if you think these smell nice. However, it only masks the bad smells for a short time. And it's not very beneficial for your health.</p>

<li>Baking soda is multi-purpose. Fill a scented bag with baking soda and place it where you feel it is needed. You can also put down a bowl of water with baking soda to get rid of the unpleasant smell. Also, sprinkle some baking soda in the trash can or trash container and the foul odors will disappear.</li>
<li>Vinegar is a good remedy to neutralize odor in the home. Bring a pan of vinegar to a boil and the smells will be gone in no time.</li>
<li>Get yourself some odor-absorbing plants. Besides the fact that plants complement your interior, did you know they are beneficial in getting rid of bad smells too? Houseplants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen through photosynthesis. They also transpire water, thus increasing humidity. And they can remove pollutants from the air! Win-win. <li>Clean your dirty pans after use so they will no longer spread bad smells.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Wipe down the countertop with a degreaser and clean the cooker hood every time you cook.&nbsp;</li>

<p>Earlier this week was the official handover of the keys of The Betz. That means that The Betz is officially up and running! This moment was of course celebrated with those closely involved in the project.&nbsp;</p>
<p>As we welcome our first residents, we are excited about the vibrant community that will grow within The Betz. This building houses tenants of more than 45 different nationalities. We are confident that this building will not only meet but exceed the expectations of its residents, providing them with a home where they can thrive and create lasting memories.</p>

<p>We need to go back to 2022 for a throwback to the start of this transformation project. After stripping down the former office building, it made room for 169 studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in different sizes and layouts. Spread over 12 floors, the building and its homes now have a sleek appearance. The iconic characteristics of the building have been mostly preserved. All homes are fully furnished with brand-new furniture to make moving in as easy as possible. It includes all the essentials one needs when moving in. Besides the basics (such as a bed, table, chairs, closet, and lighting), we'll provide glasses, plates, cutlery, pots and pans, and cleaning equipment.&nbsp;<br><br>One of the highlights of The Betz is the large, shared terrace on the 3rd floor. On the 10th floor, The Betz will feature a rooftop bar with a rooftop garden of 300 m². Residents can wash and dry their clothes in the shared laundrette with professional washing machines and dryers.</p>

We're excited to help everyone settle in before moving into their new community.</h2>
<p>The Student Residence is home to all first-year students of Hotel Management School Maastricht. This on-campus student housing stands on the grounds of a former castle and features 390 rooms, managed by Holland2Stay. <p>Last weekend, we welcomed 291 first-year students from Hotel Management School in Maastricht to their new home in the Student Residence, located on campus. We're excited to help everyone settle in before moving into their new community.</p>

<h2>On Monday, August 19, Benjamin opened its doors to the first residents. This modern building is designed specifically for student accommodation, great for students studying in Amersfoort, Utrecht, or Amsterdam.</h2>
<h3>A warm welcome&nbsp;</h3>
<p>After several months of construction, the building has been transformed into a modern building with 53 student residences. Our team was present to hand over the keys and to give the residents a warm welcome. All studios are fully rented out, with students from 20 different nationalities calling Benjamin home.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Benjamin is more than just a place to live. The 53 studios have been carefully designed to provide students with a comfortable and inspiring living environment. Each studio features a trendy interior that perfectly matches the lifestyle of today’s students. <p>On Monday, August 19, Benjamin opened its doors to the first residents. This modern building is designed specifically for student accommodation, great for students studying in Amersfoort, Utrecht, or Amsterdam.</p>

<h3>Welcoming the first wave of residents&nbsp;</h3>
<p>On September 14, the first batch of 111 happy households moved into their new home at De Evert. The others will follow in the upcoming weeks. Because moving days can be stressful, we were there every step of the way. Our team was on hand to greet them with a welcoming smile, a glass of prosecco or orange juice, and a welcome package. To help everyone settle in, we offered a guided tour around the building, showcasing the facilities and their new apartments.<br><br>De Evert is home to a diverse community with an average age of 31. The atmosphere is global with 76% of our residents coming from international backgrounds and representing 59 different nationalities. With the first wave of tenants moved in, the building is already starting to feel like a community.</p>

Located at Aziëweg in Haarlem, Ceylonpoort is our second location in this popular city. Once an office, this building is transformed into one of the most iconic buildings of the district Schalkwijk.<br><br>Ceylonpoort now offers 162 energy-efficient A+++ apartments, maisonettes, and penthouses. From cozy one-bedroom apartments and lofts to spacious three-bedroom homes, Ceylonpoort offers many choices in layout types. Every residence features a private balcony. However, it's also possible to team up with your brother, sister, cousin, or colleague. The apartments feature a living room, kitchen, and balcony to be shared, and two private bedrooms. Unique is that both bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, making it very privacy-friendly.&nbsp;<br><br>Over the next 3 months, the remaining 93 residences, shared gym, and meeting point will be completed, bringing the entire building to life. Highlights of the building are the shared areas, like a gym and laundry room, perfect for meeting neighbors and building a community.&nbsp;</p>

<p>From the moment tenants picked up their keys, the connections between neighbors began to grow, thanks to shared experiences, group chats, and the joy of starting something new together. With people from 59 different nationalities, the atmosphere is vibrant and diverse.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the couple Efthymios (28) and Sofia (29) and the couple Vaia (27) and Prokopios (26), moving into De Evert was a shared adventure. Having previously lived in The Ridge in Delft, Efthymios and Sofia are excited to start their new journey at De Evert alongside friends they’ve known for years. Both couples are from Greece and embraced the Netherlands as their new home.<br><br>What’s better than moving into a new home? Doing it with a friend! Huan (27) and Feiyang (27) are both from China and are excited to now call De Evert their home. While Huan moved in on Saturday, Feiyang joined just a few days later. Thanks to a resident-created WhatsApp group, Huan and Feiyang have already started forming connections and friendships with other new tenants, even before the first boxes are unpacked.</p>

<p>Alam (29) from Mexico is a PhD research student at TU Delft. He had been eagerly following the construction of De Evert from his previous home in The Y, another apartment building in The Hague managed by Holland2Stay. On Saturday, he finally moved into his semi-furnished studio. He was surrounded by friends from Mexico and Colombia who helped him settle in. <br><br>For Khagen (31) from South Africa, Saturday’s move was a long-awaited step toward a space of his own. After spending the last three months living with friends near Amsterdam, he’s now thrilled to be home at De Evert.</p>

It will have one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in store, sizing up from 42 to 89 square meters. There are contract options for short stays and for settling in for longer. And good news, Velide's residences are <a href="https://holland2stay.com/residences?city%5Bfilter%5D=Velp%2C6265&amp;page=1">now available to book</a>!&nbsp;<br><br>Velide is designed with comfort, sustainability, and modern living in mind. While we can’t share all the details just yet, you can expect high-quality apartments with thoughtful layouts that maximize space and functionality. This new location will embrace energy efficiency, ensuring a comfortable home with lower utility costs. Every apartment includes access to an extra storage room on the ground floor. Additionally, each residence comes with a dedicated parking spot around the building, ensuring easy and secure parking for all residents.<br><br>The building is gasless and will be a home where sustainability meets modern comfort. Each apartment is designed with energy efficiency in mind and proudly holds an energy label A++. This ensures lower utility costs and a reduced environmental impact, making the residences an excellent choice for modern living. Adding to the comfort of each home, all apartments are equipped with energy-efficient floor heating, providing consistent warmth throughout the space.</p>
