<h2>Hooray! Holland2Stay has officially received the Verhuurder OKeurmerk (‘Rental Quality Mark’) from Huurteam Utrecht.</h2>
<p>Huurteam Utrecht is an independent organization, working on behalf of the municipality of Utrecht. The organization checks if private residences - in specific student residences – are rented out in line with the Dutch rent legislation and the rents point system. Good letting is rewarded with the Landlord OK quality mark. Huurteam Utrecht has checked Holland2Stay and has officially stated that Holland2Stay meets all criteria for the quality mark!</p>

<h3>About Huurteam Utrecht</h3>
<p>In the Netherlands, there are many rules and regulations protecting tenants’ rights. Many tenants, especially students and expats, aren’t sufficiently aware of this. Excessively high rents and service costs, unrefunded deposits and poor maintenance of the accommodation are just a few examples of the problems that tenants face when they rent accommodation. To support tenants in disputes, regional tenant support teams have been initiated by municipalities. Huurteam Utrecht provides information, advice and support. Even more, Huurteam Utrecht offers landlords who want to rent out in a good way the opportunity to distinguish themselves from landlords who do not.</p>
<h3>The criteria</h3>
<p>To be eligible for the Rental Quality Mark, you meet the following criteria:</p>
<ul>
<li class="font-14">The housing is legal - all necessary permits have been granted and the required reports have been made</li>
<li class="font-14">The rental agreement has to be in line with the rental legislation of the Dutch government</li>
<li class="font-14">The rent of the residences does not exceed the maximum rent under the rent points system</li>
<li class="font-14">The annual rent increase is in line with the Dutch legislation</li>
<li class="font-14">The service costs are settled annually, in accordance with the statutory rules of the Dutch government</li>
<li class="font-14">The residences are well-maintained</li>
<li class="font-14">For safety and prevention of nuisance, house and lifestyle rules are created</li>
<li class="font-14">There is regular management by a non-tenant, who supervises hygiene and safety, maintains an up-to-date overview of the residents of the building, and can be reached 24 hours per days.</li>
</ul>
<h3>The verdict</h3>
<p>Huurteam Utrecht has checked our rental agreements, service costs handling and maintenance of residences, and concluded that Holland2Stay meets all criteria! Zjef Bogers received the certificate from Edo Gommers in Rotterdam, in our office in The Lee Towers. A nice accomplishment - good letting is rewarded!</p>

<h2>The historic building of a former school at the Vleutenseweg in Utrecht has been completely transformed into a classic apartment building while retaining original details. Residentie 't Vleuterhuys will welcome its first residents on Friday, November 13, 2020.</h2>
<p>With a new wing on Curaçaostraat, the building opposite the Majellapark once again shines in all its glory. The building houses 35 spacious studios and lofts with high-quality insulation. All homes are fully furnished and for rent through Holland2Stay. The studios and loft apartments enjoy a modern mid-century interior design with a focus on optimal comfort and urban living. The prices of the houses start from 965 euros per month and can be booked directly through our website. <br><br>The building was designed as the public primary school ‘Anslijnschool’ and was then used as a kindergarten ‘De Mussen’. After moving the kindergarten, it has become empty. The right part of the building was still in use as the Utrecht board academy, after which it was used as a daycare center for years. The left part of the building has been squatted for years. <br><br>Claver Real Estate has transformed the former school building into a high-quality residential building with a new-build wing on Curaçaostraat. The ‘Aspelin’ daycare center is located on the ground and first floors of the new building. <h2>Happily, we ring in the new year with a new building in our offer! From January 1, 2021, Holland2Stay will take over the management of the apartment complex The Y in The Hague.</h2>
<p>The Y, located at Stationsplein and next to station The Hague HS, offers a varied range of accommodations for students and young professionals. The 455 studios and apartments are offered unfurnished for long-term stays and furnished for short-term stays. <h2>In an interview with mt/Sprout, our founder Zjef Bogers speaks about the wonders of shared living. Find out why the shared living concept is working so well.</h2>
<p>In recent years, housing prices have raised steadily in many Dutch cities. Young professionals are facing difficulties with finding suitable and affordable housing. In line with the growth of the sharing economy, shared living and co-living projects are fast gaining in popularity. Holland2Stay offers shared-living and co-living at the two <a href="/building-twin">Twin</a> buildings in Amsterdam. In an interview with Mt/sprout, Zjef explains why this concept is winning ground.</p>
<p>Shared living and co-living residences come in all shapes and forms. While having a private bedroom, residents share the common living spaces (kitchen, living room, and bathroom). At most Holland2Stay buildings, residents share communal areas and amenities with others. For example, <a href="/building-the-lee-towers">The Lee Towers</a> includes a communal cinema and gym and <a href="/building-rive-republic">Rive Republic</a> incorporates a small café and mini-market. These communal projects are gaining popularity as hotspots for millennials in big cities. According to Zjef, shared living and co-living communities attract an increasing number of people, as these projects provide several advantages such as cost savings, convenience, and community.</p>

<p>Many millennials are having a hard time finding a place to live because their income is too low for a mortgage and too high for social housing. Zjef explains that the concept of shared living and co-living appeals to starters and young professionals. The monthly rent of a modern and well-maintained studio or room in a shared living complex is comparable to the rent of a smaller, less well-maintained, private apartment in the city. Plus, you get more facilities with shared living. In shared living projects, tenants get access to a launderette, gym, theater, lounge area, catering, parking, and sometimes even shared cars. This makes shared living very attractive: living at such accommodations is relatively affordable without sacrificing any luxury.</p>
<h3>#2 Convenience</h3>
<p>Zjef also explains why this is not just a trend or by-product of the housing shortage. Shared living is popular with the new generations because of ease and comfort. ‘We manage the facilities, take care of the furnishing and maintenance of the residences, and take care of the utilities. All tenants need to do is unpack their suitcases upon arrival.’</p>
<h3>#3 Community</h3>
<p>Also, the shared facilities of shared living and co-living projects are the best way to meet new people. ‘This helps young professionals who have moved to a new city and are trying to start a new life.’</p>

<h2>As of May 1, 2020, Wilbert Aben is the new managing director of Holland2Stay. After 9 years as managing director, founder Zjef Bogers makes way for his successor.</h2>
<p>The new managing director will be responsible for the further development of Holland2Stay. Holland2Stay was founded in 2011 under the name Eindhoven2Stay with several residences under management in Eindhoven. Because of the rapid expansion of property management in other cities, we changed the name to Holland2Stay for all our branches in the Netherlands in 2018.</p>
<p>Holland2Stay focuses on home seekers who desire comfort and service and is fully committed to hospitality, the distinguishing factor of our organization. We currently manage almost 8.000 homes in the major cities in the Netherlands, and this number is expected to grow to more than 10.000 residences in 2022.</p>
<p>Wilbert Aben brings years of management experience to Holland2Stay. Wilbert previously worked as an area manager at A.S. Watson and was responsible for Kruidvat branches in Belgium. Zjef Bogers is now shifting his focus to other activities and new projects within Holland2Stay.</p>

<h2>Are you going to start your new life in the ancient city of Maastricht soon and are you wondering what our residences look like in reality? If that's the case, follow our vlogger Ciana Mayam for a day exploring our modern studios of Bassin and DOK01 and the city's Burgundian hospitality.</h2>
<p>Together with Matt, our Area Manager in Maastricht, Ciana takes the chance to have a detailed look inside our semi-furnished and furnished student studios. First, they visit Bassin, a recently renovated building on the edge of the Bassin, a small inland port. Bassin is located in a calm neighborhood, which is perfectly located and easily accessible by car, bike, and public transport. It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the city center, so you don't even need a bike here!</p>
<p>Next, Matt and Ciana cross the street to reach the brand-new residences of DOK01. DOK01 is located at the banks of river Meuse and consists of 97 fully furnished studios. This means that you can move into your new home without spending time on a what-to-buy checklist. All residences of this modern complex are equipped with a private kitchen and private bathroom. Bunk beds free up some space for a living area, with the sofa doubling as an extra bed. Offering an amazing view of the beautiful river Meuse, the studios will be filled with a huge amount of natural light, which makes studying and working from home more pleasant than ever.</p>
<p>After visiting the studios, Ciana goes around some of the best spots in town picked by Matt, who is also a Maastricht resident. Starting from the Lumière building - an exceptional theater that shows new wave movies - they head to Bold, a rooftop cocktail bar on top of the movie theatre Pathé. Next, they visit Markt square and Vrijthof square, where visitors get the most out of the Maastricht vibe. Spoiler alert: in this video, Matt will show you where you can eat the best French fries in Maastricht, as well as how to greet as locals do.</p>

Take a look inside Maastricht's student studios

<p>Follow Ciana and Matt for a day visiting Bassin and DOK01 in Maastricht, as well as discovering some hotspots in this Burgundian city.</p>

<h2>In this vlog, Ciana visits her hometown Amsterdam and explores Twin. Here we get a glimpse of its spacious modern apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows and get to know three tenants living there: Mathijs, Floris, and Wessel.</h2>
<p>As the group sits down with Ciana, they explain their reasoning for staying at Twin. They have been trying to find a place to live together but came out empty-handed. They decided that the semi-furnished apartments in Twin were the right ones because of their large living room and nice views.</p>
<p style="font-size: 20px; text-transform: uppercase; font-family: 'Brandon Grotesque Black';">“Especially the large living room and nice views, that's what made us choose this apartment over the other ones.”</p>
<p>Wessel tells us how the pandemic has affected them but that they tried to remain positive and went out for jogs regularly. The apartment complex resides next to the river and has a park nearby. This makes going outside to exercise or clear your mind much more enjoyable.</p>
<p>Further in the vlog, Ciana shows another apartment to give us a better picture of how your apartment at Twin will look like. Luckily, shopping square Osdorpplein is just a walking distance away and if you’re fond of exercising outside, a calisthenics park is right around the corner.</p>

<h2>A wise man once said "To give is to receive" and we couldn't agree more! There's nothing as fulfilling as helping others - a mantra that we live by every day.</h2>
<p>Helping people is in our hospitable nature. We made it our goal to make our residents happy in their homes, but our mission doesn't end here! Helping and bringing happiness to those who need it most is what keeps us on our toes.</p>
<p>This year, we brought everyone at Holland2Stay together and rallied up to fight for a handful of good causes. Each team of Holland2Stay has been allocated a budget of €500 to donate to a charitable cause of their choice. The teams decided to help either a charity that was close to their heart or simply a social cause they thought could use an extra helping hand in times of challenge.</p>
<p>We were lucky to help several charitable groups, among which we count:</p>
<h3>1. Alzheimer Nederland</h3>
<p>A wonderful organization that is committed to fighting one of the biggest challenges we face today: dementia. <a href="https://www.alzheimer-nederland.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alzheimer Nederland</a> works hard to provide a better quality of life for people with dementia, as well as their families and friends. We were more than happy to be able to help this amazing organization in its life-changing mission of helping people who suffer from this disease.</p>
<h3>2.Tittagalla primary school</h3>
<p>One of our most beloved charitable activities was helping a small-town school in Tittagalla (Sri Lanka) build a brand new playground in their schoolyard. The kids who once used to play in their parents' rice fields can now enjoy a safe and fully-equipped playground that will serve them well for many years to come. The smiles on these children's faces brought us so much joy!</p>

<h3>3. The Ocean Cleanup</h3>
<p>A cause that will always need a helping hand - <a href="https://theoceancleanup.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Ocean Cleanup</a>! This Netherlands-based non-profit organization works hard on developing the best technologies to extract plastic pollution from the oceans and even prevent it from entering the oceans by cleaning the rivers. An amazing mission that needs all the support it can get from all of us!</p>
<h3>4. Kledingbank Eindhoven</h3>
<p>The <a href="https://www.kledingbank-eindhoven.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kledingbank Eindhoven</a> (or the Clothes Chamber in English) has an honorable objective: to provide a warm coat to those in need. The organization operates mainly in the Eindhoven region. Throughout the years, Kledingbank Eindhoven has organized various campaigns to help kids and adults alike receive clothes for free. We are super proud that we were able to help this wonderful organization and even more so that one of our colleagues is a regular volunteer at the Kledingbank!</p>

<h3>5. De Poezenboot</h3>
<p>Literally translated as "The Catboat", <a href="https://depoezenboot.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">De Poezenboot</a> is a unique animal sanctuary for stray and abandoned cats, that is located on a houseboat on one of Amsterdam's most famous canals. Though normally cats are not big fans of water, the furry friends at De Poezenboot love living on it as they never have to get their paws wet. We were very happy to give a helping hand to the amazing people who take care of the cats on De Poezenboot.</p>
<h3><br>6. Stichting Jarige Job</h3>
<p>An amazing organization with a heart-warming mission: helping families who cannot afford to celebrate their child's birthday. <a href="https://stichtingjarigejob.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stichting Jarige Job</a> provides children in need with a wonderful birthday box that contains everything needed for a memorable birthday celebration. A great mission that we were oh-so proud to help!</p>

<h3>7. Voedselbank Nederland</h3>
<p>Last, but not least, one of our teams decided to give a helping hand to the <a href="https://voedselbankennederland.nl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Voedselbank Nederland</a>, a charitable organization, otherwise known as the Foodbank. Voedselbank has an honorable objective: to provide food to people who are struggling financially. Their wonderful mission expands to assisting companies, institutions, and governments not only with food but also with services and financial aid in the pursuit of helping people in need as well as to prevent food wastage. We were so excited to assist this organization in its great mission!</p>

<h2>We're happy to share that Holland2Stay has taken over the management of Campus Zonnelaan from Van 't Hof Rijnland!</h2>
<p>With the takeover of the management of <a href="/building-campus-zonnelaan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Zonnelaan</a>, Holland2Stay now manages 559 residences in Groningen. Besides Campus Zonnelaan, Holland2Stay already manages <a href="/building-oostersingel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Oostersingel</a> in Groningen. Campus Zonnelaan will also have an office on the ground floor, where tenants can easily drop by for questions or help.</p>

<h3>Studios perfect for students</h3>
<p>The studios are perfect for students who prefer to have their own bathroom and kitchen. All studios are each 24 square meters and are rented semi-furnished, thus without furniture. Each residence comes with pre-installed black-out curtains and vinyl flooring. The kitchen is equipped with a built-in refrigerator, a combi microwave oven, and an electric cooker. Campus Zonnelaan has a large, sunny rooftop terrace with a fantastic view over the city of Groningen. In the building is a spacious meeting room where you can meet other residents. Both common areas are fully equipped with tables and lounge sets, great for studying or relaxing. There is a common launderette with several washing machines and dryers.</p>

<p>Campus Zonnelaan is located in the Paddepoel neighborhood, on the corner of Zonnelaan and Grote Beerstraat. Great for students of Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the University of Groningen, as Campus Zonnelaan is only a few minutes away. From this ideal location, you can reach the city center, nightlife, and shopping center Paddepoel in no time.</p>
<h3>Can I rent here?</h3>
<p>You can rent the student studios of Campus Zonnelaan as long as you are a student. All studios are suitable for housing allowance, making it a good and affordable place to rent as a student.</p>
<p>Through the fully online booking system, (future) students can easily book a residence online. For newly available residences, new tenants are selected by lottery. Every Tuesday around 7 PM, available studios are published on our <a href="https://holland2stay.com/residences.html">website</a>. You can sign up for a lottery residence until Sunday 20:00. A random signee is automatically selected to book the residence. On Monday, the selected signee will be contacted directly by email. You can only sign up for one residence per week in the lottery.</p>

Drain the tube and clean the inside and the filter. Ready? Put it all back in place.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean the detergent dispenser</strong><br>Remove the detergent dispenser tray and soak it in warm soapy water. Use a toothbrush to scrub away any residue or build-up. Rinse and dry thoroughly before reinserting it into the machine.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Clean the rubbers on the inside</strong><br>Get a microfiber cloth or sponge and clean the inside rubbers. Wipe down the inside of the drum and the door seal thoroughly to remove any remaining grime or mold.<br><br></li>

<p>The move-in-ready rental apartments have one, two, or even three bedrooms. There are 108 one-bedroom apartments (48 to 67 m<sup>2</sup>), 130 two-bedroom apartments (57 to 99 m<sup>2</sup>), and two three-bedroom apartments (107 m<sup>2</sup>). All apartments come semi-furnished, including a warm wood-like PVC floor, white walls, and fitting curtains. The kitchens are equipped with all the necessary appliances, like an induction plate, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, and a combi oven. The bathroom includes a shower, sink, hanging toilet, and design radiator to dry and warm up towels. There’s a connection for a washing machine in the bathroom. <p><br>Built in 1900, this monumental neo-Renaissance-style building is one of the most iconic buildings in <a href="https://holland2stay.com/city/nijmegen">Nijmegen</a>. The impressive symmetrical façade is well-known by many locals. Standing tall in a calm neighborhood, <a href="https://holland2stay.com/building/canisiushof">Canisiushof</a> isn’t a building you just pass by. Key features of Canisiushof are the unique entrance hall, the nineteenth-century gallery library, and the chapel.</p>

<p>Named after Petrus Canisius, it has always had an educational function. Canisiushof once housed a boys’ boarding school, high schools Canisius College and ROC Nijmegen, and the college HAN University of Applied Sciences. This will change now, as Canisiushof will house a total of 120 rental lofts and apartments. It’ll be revived and become a showpiece of Nijmegen again. But above all, it’ll become a warm and welcoming place.</p>
<h3><strong>Redevelopment </strong></h3>
<p>Besides the presence of some offices on one side of the building, the place had been vacant for a long time. During the construction, many original features will be preserved. Think of the entrance, the hallways, stained-glassed window parts, and the original chapel. In terms of design, it has many resemblances to Amsterdam Central Station and Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, thanks to architect Pierre Cuypers.</p>
<p>The seven floors are being transformed one by one. The building will be gasless – it will be heated with a geothermal source. Solar panels will also be installed on the flat roofs of the buildings. All the to-be-finished homes are brand-new. There will be a variety of types and layouts to choose from. All homes are fully furnished, coming with everything you need to quickly settle in. Perfect if you’re relocating to the Netherlands and looking for a place to stay for a short period.</p>

Supermarkets Albert Heijn and Coop can be found within 500 meters of Canisiushof. Nijmegen’s city center is only a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute bike ride.</p>
<p>Thanks to HAN University of Applied Sciences, Radboud University, and Radboud UMC, Nijmegen is a popular city among students. As the festivities wind down, it’s time to say goodbye to your beloved Christmas tree. As you're supposed to recycle it in the Netherlands, many municipalities have a pick-up scheme where you can get rid of your tree.&nbsp;</h2>
<h3><br>Remove lights and decorations</h3>
<p>Before recycling your tree, ensure it’s stripped of all decorations, including lights, ornaments, tinsel, and any other non-biodegradable items. Remove the pot or stand as well, as these can interfere with the recycling process.</p>
<h3>Find a local collection point</h3>
<p>Many municipalities in the Netherlands organize special collections for Christmas trees after New Year's Day. Check your local municipality below or contact them directly to find out the designated collection dates and points. Often, there are specific days allocated for picking up old Christmas trees to be recycled.</p>

<li><strong>Arnhem</strong> <br>PreZero collects Christmas trees every January. This year, they’ll come by in weeks 2 and 3 of 2024. Check the <a href="https://inzamelwijzer.prezero.nl/">digital waste calendar</a>&nbsp;to find the day they will visit your street. Put your tree next to the nearest collection container. You can also take your Christmas tree to the waste disposal station at Beijerinckweg 9a or De Overmaat 17 yourself.<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Amsterdam</strong> <br>Drop off your Christmas tree at one of the 2.000 drop-off locations between December 27 and January 19, 2024. <li><strong>Delft<br></strong>From December 27 until January 31, 2024, you can put your Christmas tree next to the underground containers. Place it next to the metal plate, so the container can still be emptied. The municipality will pick it up.<strong><br></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></li>
<li><strong>Den Bosch&nbsp;<br></strong>In Den Bosch, you can dispose of your Christmas tree between January 8 and January 12, 2024. Christmas trees can be placed next to the underground container. <li><strong><strong>Den Haag<br></strong></strong>Put your Christmas tree on the curb during one of the collection days between January 2 and January 11, 2024. The municipality will come by once a week. Check the <a href="https://www.denhaag.nl/nl/afval/huisvuilkalender/">digital waste calendar</a> when they visit your street. Place it outside before 7:45. You can also bring your tree to one of the disposal stations at Plutostraat or De Werf.<br><br>In some city parts of Den Haag, they have a collection campaign, especially for children: ‘Verloot je boompje’. <li><strong><strong>Haarlem<br></strong></strong>The municipality of Haarlem organizes a Christmas tree collection campaign. You can bring your Christmas tree to the collection point between January 3 and January 10, between 13:30 and 17:00. <li><strong><strong>Nieuwegein<br></strong></strong>Cleaning company Midden Nederland (RMN) will start collecting Christmas trees after January 6. Check the <a href="https://afvalkalender.dar.nl/afvalstroom?2&amp;Kerstbomen">digital waste calendar</a> to see when they will pick them up. You can also bring your Christmas tree for free to the waste disposal station.<br><br></li>
<li><strong><strong>Rijswijk<br></strong></strong>You can put your Christmas tree next to the underground container until January, 14. Don’t put it on the metal plate, otherwise, they can’t empty the container. The municipality’s cleaning service collects these Christmas trees from Monday to Friday.&nbsp;<br><br></li>
<li><strong><strong>Rotterdam<br></strong></strong>Get rid of your Christmas tree from January 3 until January 10, 2024. You can take it to one of the collection points in the city. For every Christmas tree, you’ll get €0,50. You can also take it to one of the sports and playground places that have signed up. Here, you can donate the €0,50 you receive to the place you bring it to.<br><br>You can also put your Christmas tree next to an underground container nearby, on December 27 or January 28. Put it at least one meter next to the underground container.<br><br></li>
<li><strong><strong>Sittard<br></strong></strong>RWM will pick up old Christmas trees in Sittard. You can check the <a href="https://www.rwm.nl/inwoners/afvalwijzer">digital waste calendar</a> to see when they will pass by your home. You can put your Christmas tree on the curb in front of your home.<br><br></li>
<li><strong><strong>Tilburg<br></strong></strong>You can place your Christmas tree at the curb of your street from January 8 to January 12. Put it out before 8:00 in the morning. The municipality’s cleaning company will come by and collect it. You can also bring your waste disposal station yourself for free.<br><br></li>
<li><strong><strong>Utrecht<br></strong></strong>From January 3 to 29, there are 38 Christmas tree collections points scattered throughout Utrecht. The collection points can be recognized by banners with the text 'Kerstboom inzamelpunt'. Christmas trees can be placed in the bins here at any time of the day.<br><br></li>
<li><strong><strong>Zeist<br></strong></strong>Cleaning company Midden Nederland (RMN) will start collecting Christmas trees after January 6. Check the <a href="https://21burgerportaal.mendixcloud.com/p/rmn/landing/">digital waste calendar</a> to see when RMN will visit your street. Put your Christmas tree at least 5 meters from the underground container, before 7:30 in the morning. You can also take your Christmas tree to the waste disposal station yourself.<br><br></li>
<li><strong><strong>Zoetermeer<br></strong></strong>Christmas trees are collected in Zoetermeer on January, 13. Bring it to one of the collection points and you'll have a chance on prizes. How to recycle your Christmas tree in the Netherlands

<p>Rather than tossing your Christmas tree out and leaving it somewhere on the streets, which is not allowed in the Netherlands, you should recycle it.</p>

<h2><strong>‘Tis the season to be jolly, and oh boy, did we embrace the joy! This year, we organized eight wonder-filled Wonder Wheel events across the country. Let’s recap the festivities.</strong></h2>
<p><br>After organizing our successful Christmas Quiz Night in 2020 and Days of Wonder in 2021 and 2022, 2023 was all about our Wonder Wheel events. As home is where Christmas is, why not start spreading the Christmas spirit by getting together with neighbors? With festive fun brewing in the air, we organized eight Wonder Wheel events across the country. Spanning over three days, more than 1,500 tenants attended the events in Maastricht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Groningen, Eindhoven and Utrecht.</p>

<h3>Creating lasting memories&nbsp;</h3>
<p>The Wonder Wheel events were more than just a gathering – there was excitement, laughter, festive music, mulled wine, and hot chocolate. A unique opportunity for our tenants to connect, mingle, and indulge in the thrill of spinning the Wonder Wheel. With each spin came the promise of fantastic prizes. Cheers erupted each time a lucky tenant landed on a prize, whether it was a keychain or the exhilarating jackpot of a chance to win an Airfryer or an entire month’s rent. Tenants happily walked out with Spill the scoop card games, umbrellas, tote bags, keychains, and warm slip-on slippers.</p>
<p>But beyond the allure of prizes, the Wonder Wheel events served as a platform for fostering a sense of belonging within our Holland2Stay community. Strangers became known neighbors and friends, bonding over shared moments. Smiles are exchanged, connections are forged, and memories are created.<br><br></p>

Recap of Holland2Stay's Wonder Wheel events

<p>‘Tis the season to be jolly, and oh boy, did we embrace the joy! This year, we organized eight wonder-filled Wonder Wheel events across the country.</p>

<h2>Besides The Auditorium at Nico Andriessenstraat, our second location in <a href="https://holland2stay.com/city/haarlem">Haarlem</a> is officially on its way. <strong>Expected in Q4 in 2024, <a href="https://holland2stay.com/comingsoon/ceylonpoort">Ceylonpoort</a> will house 162 lofts, apartments, and penthouses in the neighborhood of Schalkwijk.&nbsp;</strong></h2>
<h3>Progress on the construction site</h3>
<p>Built in 1973, this building at Amerikaweg was ready for a refresh. It used to be the home ground of the publishing group VNU. After leaving, the building became vacant. Plans to transform it into a residential complex started back in 2019. 15 floors, including a mezzanine, will make way for 162 new rental homes. Actual construction work started in 2022.</p>

<p>The transformation is now in full swing. In the summer of 2023, demolition work was completed and the highest point was reached. Now, construction workers are working hard on the facades of the building. These will be replaced, giving the building a new and eye-catching look. The west facade is completed in mid-January and private balconies are installed. Time to remove the crane tower and make way for the construction of the parking garage. Soon, the construction of the plinth will start. Seamlessly blending with its surroundings, the ground floor of the building will host some offices or businesses. These will be situated on the Evert Haverkortplein side of the building. You can expect a vibrant hub, mixing up living here with work and social spots.</p>
<h3>What's living at Ceylonpoort like?</h3>
<p>Ceylonpoort will have much choice in the type of layout. Ranging between 52 and 114 m<sup>2</sup>, there will be lofts, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and three-bedroom penthouses. A fit for every lifestyle!</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Lofts<br></strong>The 12 modern lofts will be on average 70 m<sup>2 </sup>and are situated on a mezzanine floor of the building – between the ground floor and second floor. The entrance, kitchen, living room, toilet, storage room, and balcony are on the first floor. The bathroom and bedroom are on the lower, mezzanine floor.&nbsp;<br><br></li>
<li><strong>Apartments</strong><br>From the second to the eleventh floor, there will be 137 apartments. On average, these will be 78 m<sup>2</sup> and have one or two bedrooms. The living room features an open kitchen and provides access to a private balcony of about 4 to 7 m<sup>2</sup>. Some apartments have an extra, in-house storage room.<br><br><strong> </strong></li>
<li><strong>Penthouses<br></strong>On top of Ceylonpoort, on the twelfth and thirteenth floor, there will be 13 penthouses. Its entrance is on the twelfth floor, where the living room, kitchen, toilet, and a rooftop terrace are. On the thirteenth floor, there’s another bedroom with access to another rooftop terrace, and a bathroom. The in-between penthouses have a patio instead of another rooftop terrace.<br><br></li>

<h3>Well-positioned in Haarlem</h3>
<p>Schalkwijk, we’re coming for you. This neighborhood is a soon-to-be modern and attractive place to live. Big plans are announced to revamp this area into ‘Schalkstad’, a renewed part of Haarlem with everything you need to live comfortably. Former office buildings are being transformed into homes and the shopping center Schalkwijk is about to become a new hotspot. There’s nothing you’ll not find here. It already includes supermarkets and fashion shops, but also recreation options like a cinema and a gym.</p>
<p>Ceylonpoort is located southeast of Haarlem’s city center, only 15 minutes by public transport. It’s also located close to several nature parks, like Meerwijkplas and Molenplas. Haarlem is a popular city among the young ones, as it blends culture, modernity, and history. Squeezed in between Amsterdam and beach cities like Zandvoort and Bloemendaal aan Zee, many prefer living in Haarlem over life in busy Amsterdam.</p>
